A recipe for Pink Drink for valentine’s Day is just want you need! This creamy, frothy and fruity drink is a perfect way to cheers to those you love. And you can make it with or without alcohol – just in case those you love are kids like mine. Save it so you can find it again each year!
I’m just trying to cram in all the last minute Valentine’s Day things that I can this year. Whenever the Super Bowl and Valentine’s day fall near one another like they do this year, I always feel rushed – like I can only focus on one or another. This recipe for Pink Drink for Valentine’s Day is a perfect example of that. I made it the day before Valentine’s Day on a whim, but let me tell you I am so glad that I did!
Creating something fun
I always try to create some things that are a little more fun for my family for any holiday, and with Valentine’s Day is there any other holiday that’s more perfect for a pink drink recipe? Usually, I end up making something and now they’ve all come to expect it. When I was making this yesterday my daughter said, “Are you making us fun drinks for Valentine’s Day?”
I responded saying that the one I was making included alcohol, but there is luckily a version that’s non-alcoholic too! Basically, you just leave it out.
Ingredients in the recipe for a Pink Drink for Valentine’s Day
This Pink Drink recipe is pretty easy to make. It only requires 3-4 ingredients depending on if you’re making it with or without alcohol. To start, I use a homemade raspberry syrup. If you don’t like raspberry, you can also make a strawberry syrup. I think even something like grenadine would work. Just be aware the grenadine will make it very sweet. Much sweeter than my homemade syrup most likely.
Additionally, I use a non-alcoholic Pina Colada mix. This really gives this recipe for my pink drink the creamy, foamy kind-of effect you see here. Including this as a non-alcoholic mix also allows me to make a version of it for my kids.
I also add a little extra pineapple juice. In the middle of winter in Michigan I kind of crave sunshine and light. Pineapple juice always gives me that summery, warm feeling – even if I have three feet of snow on the ground.
Lastly, the alcohol is included if you want to make this as an alcoholic drink for adults. I use a white rum or for even more fruity flavor, Malibu rum.
Tips for making my Pink Drink for Valentine’s Day
- When it comes to making the recipe for a pink drink, you want to mix everything in a shaker. I have this one {HERE} and I love it because it’s pretty (shrugs shoulders) and because I can see everything being shaken together, which can be important.
- In this recipe, you want to make sure the syrup is mixing well with the other ingredients (that pretty container that you can see through comes in handy here). In this case, you need to flip the shaker over while shaking to make sure everything blends well.
- The serving size for this is two glasses with ice. I know you don’t see any ice in the photos. That’s so you can see the pretty, frothy drink. This drink is best served cold so make sure to shake with ice and pour over ice.
- To make this alcoholic, simply leave the rum out.
