  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/3 cup of milk + 2 Tbsp
  • 1 stick of salted butter
  • 1/2 Tbsp. vanilla

Instructions

Instructions for the Cherry Mix

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • Pit the cherries and then add them to a large skillet pan over low heat. Add in sugar, corn starch and fresh lemon juice. Mix and simmer for 5 minutes. Then add in the vanilla and almond extracts and simmer another 5 minutes.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, sugar and whisk. Or use a sifter. Then make a hole in the middle and add the milk, vanilla and melted butter. Mix together with a wooden spoon or your hands.
  • Use a little butter to coat the bottom of a deep, oval baking dish. Or you can use cooking spray. Then add the cherry mix and drop the cobbler dough on top.
  • Bake for 30 minutes and then sprinkle a little additional sugar on top. Continue to bake for another 10-20 minutes. Total time should be around 50 minutes or when the top of the cobbler dough is starting to turn golden.
  • Let cool for 10 minutes and then serve with vanilla bean ice cream!
