Honey Ginger Lemonade

Ingredients

  • 12 lemons, freshly squeezed This should equal about 2 cups of lemon juice. If you don't have two cups, squeeze another couple of lemons.
  • 1.5 cups honey
  • 1/3 cup fresh ginger, sliced
  • 2 cups of water
  • Additional cold water to top off the drinks or the pitcher.
  • Fresh basil to garnish.

Instructions

  • Squeeze the lemons and set lemon juice aside.
  • Add the honey, 2 cups of water and ginger to a pan over medium heat.
  • Bring to a simmer and then turn off the heat and let sit for 30 minutes.
  • Strain the honey and ginger syrup and refrigerate for 1 hour.
  • Fill tall glasses (or a large pitcher) with ice and add 3 parts lemon juice, 3 parts honey and ginger syrup and 4 parts water.
  • Mix and serve with a fresh basil leaf. You can also serve this shaken too if you want to add it to a shaker.
