Add olive oil to a pan and heat. Once warm add onions and cook 5 minutes stirring continuously.
Add 2 Tbsp. of butter and continue to stir until the onions caramelize.
Before removing from pan mix in Worcestershire sauce and heat for one more minute.
Cut Hawaiian rolls in half and layer roast beef onto the bottoms.
Then add the onions and grated Gruyère cheese.
Add pepper and 1/2 the thyme leaves.
Place bun tops back on and brush with melted butter mixed with the garlic salt and onion powder.
Add on the rest of the thyme leaves.
Tent with foil and bake at 350 for 10 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 10 minutes. Serve immediately.
