Winter has set in here in Michigan and Christmas is long gone. The winter decor is up and it feels so cozy over here during the freezing Midwest days. Here’s a few January home decor ideas that I do each season to refresh our home and keep it cozy during the coldest Midwest days.
Find solace in a blank space
- It literally feels lighter to me after all the halls are no longer decked and I mentally need that blank space to reset my brain.
- I truly believe that letting a space stay blank even for a week or two will make you more thoughtful about what goes into it. This leads to me buying less things just to fill the space and it also makes me look at the things I do want with a more purposeful point of view.
Pack the reds away, but keep the greens
When Christmas is over and it’s time for winter and January decor ideas, the first thing I’m happy to put away is all the red. Don’t get me wrong. I LOVE red. I love it for every Christmas season. It’s traditional and so am I. But once January hits, red starts to suffocate me a bit.
Follow Mother Nature’s colors
Natural woods bring the warmth
Winterize replacement art
Keep a bit of the shine

So many great ideas. Your home is definitely warm and inviting. Those tree prints on your mantle are very eye appealing. Are there any Etsy sites you would recommend?

This is the artist here: https://bit.ly/3vB8Md4 that I bought the prints from. I love everything she does. I also get a lot of different prints from this seller here: https://bit.ly/3vytVob They have a really good eye when it comes to combining photos that look good together and they’re not very expensive.

May I have the name of the paint on your walls and trim? It all comes together beautifully!
