When it comes to making Halloween fun, sometimes it’s the little things you do that will make all the difference. These spook Chocolate trees are a fun touch that you can add to the tops of cupcakes, in dirt pudding and on cakes.
I made these Spooky Chocolate Trees a few years ago for Halloween and added them to individual Halloween dirt pudding cups. My kids loved it and I thought that I would share it with you today for your kids too…or your adults. Whether the Halloween lovers in your house are old or young, the Spooky Chocolate Trees are a fun way to plus up any Halloween treat.
What you need for Spooky Halloween Chocolate Trees
To create the spooky Halloween Chocolate Trees you will need, melting chocolate, a piping back or even just a sandwich baggies, parchment paper and a pencil.
Basically, you don’t need much for this fun creation. I think that’s why I love it so much. They’re really simple to make and they don’t take a lot of time. Easy, Halloween plus ups always feel like a bonus to me. I used it on Halloween Dirt pudding cups. They are pudding, crushed Oreos for dirt, candy pumpkins and the Spooky Halloween Trees.
Tips for making Spooky Halloween Chocolate Trees
- I like using Ghirardelli Melting Wafers Chocolate for the Spooky Halloween Chocolate Trees. I think it melts the best, it tastes the best and it’s easiest to work with. It also tends to stay pliable a little longer than some of the more generic versions in the store. I find those tend to start freezing up quickly.
- You will want to have a pencil to draw out an outline for the trees on parchment paper. This isn’t hard to do and you can see how I do it in the video above. Then flip the parchment paper over so the tree is on the back. Don’t put the chocolate directly over the lead!
- Be gentle with the trees. They do snap easily. If you can, make the trunks a little thicker. If you’re going to use them on a cupcake or cake, make a slit in the cake first with a knife before sticking the tree in.
Thank you all so much for visiting today! I hope that you love the Spooky Halloween Chocolate Trees and they are a perfect finishing touch to your Halloween. You can find the full instructions for making the Spooky Chocolate Trees below!
