This recipe for Fresh Guacamole is my favorite guacamole recipe! Not only does it have the delicious, creamy avocado but it’s also loaded with other good ingredients that make it an unforgettable dip. Save this to Pinterest so you can always find it! You will want to make it more than once.
I think we can all agree that it’s hard to beat a good guacamole. I could make a meal out of some good guac and chips alone – and I have. 🙂 This recipe for Fresh Guacamole is my favorite recipe because not only does it include those essential, creamy avocados but it also includes other fresh ingredients that just take Guacamole to the next level.
What’s in my recipe for Fresh Guacamole?
Like all good guacamoles, my recipe starts with some ripe avocados. I have a tip on how to get them perfectly ripe in the tips below. You will need about 4 avocados for my recipe for Fresh Guacamole. While that might sound like a lot, this dip will disappear FAST! I made it for lunch to photograph and it was gone after dinner.
The next three important ingredients in my recipe for fresh guacamole are sea salt, garlic and fresh lime juice. If you’ve made my recipes before you know I’m a big fan of sea salt. It just has a better flavoring than table salt and really helps to bring all other ingredients to life. Fresh, grated garlic also really makes this recipe for fresh guacamole stand out from all the rest. Then the lime juice is also essential for creating that better-than-a-restaurant guacamole. The lime juice and salt are what truly end up making this a guacamole versus a smashed up avocado with some stuff in it.
Additionally, I use cherry tomatoes for their sweetness, red onion for its bite and crunch, a few dry ingredients and cilantro.
Create your own spice level
One of the things I love most about this recipe for Fresh Guacamole is that I make the spice level customizable. In my recipe, I add 2/3 a chopped jalapeños with the seeds removed. I like a little heat in my guacamole so that’s why I love adding this. However, of you don’t like the heat, you can leave it out. Additionally, if you’re someone who loves things spicy, you can include more than one diced jalapeños or you can include the seeds too. Just make sure if you’re serving others that they will eat it at that level of spiciness.
Tips for making more recipe for Fresh Guacamole
Make sure your avocados are fresh and ripe. I’ve found the way to get the perfect ripeness is to buy them two days in advance of making this recipe for Fresh Guacamole and leaving them in a bowl on the counter.
I mentioned that I use cherry tomatoes in this recipe and I prefer using them because they’re sweeter. I recommend you use them because the sweetness will help to balance out the other flavors like the red onion.
Again, please use sea salt and fresh lime juice for all the reasons stated above.
Making and Storing
My loaded guacamole recipe can be made one day in advance as long as you keep it in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Not in a container covered with foil or plastic wrap. An AIR TIGHT container. These containers {HERE} are what I use and I find these work best for storing my fresh guacamole as well as any other sort of dip or sauce I make. Proper storing is essential because avocado is one of those ingredients that just loves to turn brown. Then no one wants to eat it.
Also, don’t try to push it and go over 24 hours. You really lose the freshness factor then. In fact, while you can make this 24 hours in advance, I don’t recommend that. I recommend making it right before you want to use it. If it makes it easier, chop all the other ingredients in advance with the exception of the avocado.
