Christmas is always a time to celebrate, even if it’s a little different this year. For me, celebrating almost always means special food and special drinks that you don’t get to have throughout the rest of the year. One of my favorite (and easiest) drinks is this Christmas Mimosa recipe.
A little bit about the mimosa
Mimosas are named after the yellow flower mimosa plant that’s in the legume family Fabaceae. It’s a flower native to Southeastern Australia and was then introduced to Mediterranean and warmer climates.
Mimosas are typically made with orange juice and champagne and found during Sunday brunch or on special occasions. But Christmas Mimosas, or Holiday Mimosas, are made a little differently. At least mine are. 🙂
Sugar Maple Christmas Mimosas
I like mimosas better than most cocktails. Not only are these delicious for Christmas, but since they’re so easy to make we will be having them on New Year’s Eve.
Instead of using just the traditional orange juice, or even just two ingredients like I did in these fall mimosas {HERE}, I combined a few things. The Christmas Mimosas use pomegranate juice, cranberry juice and a splash of orange juice.
Because of that, I feel like these are easiest to make by the glass. But, you could always do a 50/50 mix of the cranberry and pomegranate juice to make it easier if you have a big crowd. And maybe next year, we will get to have big crowds for the holidays again and all be together.
Thank you so much for visiting today, friends! I hope you will come back and visit again.
