September is here and it’s brought with it the unofficial start of fall. But, I’m still not entirely there. After a Labor Day back in Chicago with my family, I’m playing catch up this week – on the blog, in the garden, with farm chores and life in general. So, I’m still exploring home fall decor ideas. However, there’s a few things I ordered today. I wanted to share with you in case you were thinking about fall decor too.
Home fall decor ideas
When it comes to harvest home fall decor for the farmhouse, I’m planning on a lot of warmth. I promised my kids I would decorate for Halloween this year, (and you can find inspiration for that HERE) but there are spaces that will just be full of cozy home fall decor too. For instance, the basement (I swear it’s almost done!) is one place that will be cozy!
I’m really loving maroons again this year (similar to the color I loved last year), but I’m also loving a terra cotta kind of color too like these pillows I ordered {HERE}. Light yellows and golds are perfect in the mix too. I ordered a similar pillow {HERE} in a light yellow and these gorgeous candlesticks {HERE} because I’ve decided like pillows, you can never have too many candlesticks. 🙂
Home fall decor textures are a must
I love texture. I just convey warmth, homey feelings and coziness. Adding a wreath is a simple way to add texture whether it’s on your front door outside or on a closet door inside. This year I’m planning on adding this wreath {HERE} to our living room windows. This is a room I read in a lot so I love filling it with fall feels. It makes it the perfect place to curl up with a good book. There’s also a wreath in that lovely terra cotta color that is calling out to me too {HERE}.
We have a leather couch in the room and I’m going to add this throw {HERE} to it too. Throws are another easy way to add texture. And, I typically like to snuggle under a blanket while I flip pages.
Coffee table home fall decor ideas
Once you’ve added a few pillows, throws and a wreath, most rooms are topped off with some great coffee table decor. One of my favorite home fall decor ideas that I found this season is this reclaimed wood bowl with pumpkin filler {HERE}.
I also adore these little acorns that I found {HERE} and this Cane Fiber Tray {HERE} that adds in some more of that great texture. Generally I love to decorate with natural elements but when you can find them, realistic-looking options are a great go-to.Plus, you can use them year after year. What I love about these two items is that you can also use them again in the spring. The tray is light enough for the season and the acorns bring just a bit of that outside in. The reclaimed bowl I mentioned above can also be used year round.
What do you love the most from the collection below? Is there anything you can see being a part of your home fall decor?
