When you’re looking to save money on flowers for fall, buying faux or dried flowers is the way to go. Year after year they will be lovely and add a charming touch to your home.
As summer winds down, your garden flowers might be starting to fade. However, flowers can and should be a large part of fall decorating. Bringing in the warmth and the texture can have a huge impact on the way fall decor looks and it always adds a little charm too.
I’m a big fan of using real flowers, branches and natural elements whenever you can. However, I realize that’s not something everyone can realistically do. Real flowers get expensive, unless you grow them. And picking things randomly from tall grasses in your yard or a the park can, well, come with random bugs and allergies too. These two points alone are exactly why faux and dried flowers for fall can be perfect solutions for your home.
Finding lasting pieces for faux and dried flowers
Throughout the last few years living here on the farm I’ve come to really love dried florals and use them whenever I can. My favorite place to buy them is {HERE}. However, in the last few years the store has also added some beautiful faux florals that look so realistic, I felt like they would be beautiful investment pieces. And in reality, the prices were very comparable to the larger retailers too. What I’ve come to find is that if I can’t dry my own flowers, and I can’t grow flowers passed September (sometimes this depends on my weather here in Zone 5b), faux and dried flowers for fall are truly the best way to go. There’s only so much charm a bare branch can add to my home. Plus, I always feel guilty cutting branches off my trees for decor.
This lead me to creating this list of the best faux and dried flowers for fall. Here’s a few of my favorites:
Colors for faux and dried flowers for fall
When it comes to finding faux and dried flowers for fall, I gravitate toward pieces that feel the most natural. That means I end up with a lot of pieces that are brown, maroon, bunt orange and creamy grasses. Even if the pieces are faux pieces, I still like to find things that look the most realistic when it comes to color. Also, here’s a tip. If you are finding a faux piece you like in terms of color and texture but it’s too shiny, use a matte spray paint on the branches and leaves to make them more realistic and less plastic-like.
Textures for fall flowers
Since fall is such a warm and cozy season, I really try to bump up the texture with my fall florals. In fact, when you’re adding thing like branches, tall grasses, dried baby’s breath and cat tails, it actually becomes difficult to not add texture. Then I’ll combine the textures to give the floral vases more interest. Just make sure that your textures have some differing colors for you can see all the details properly.
Thank you so much for visiting today friends! I hope that you find some faux and dried florals here that you love and can cherish season after season. For more home decor, click {HERE}. And to see 5 easy ways to decorate for fall, click {HERE}.
