Get a little spring inspiration with this Fairy Garden tablescape! It makes a cute set up for St. Patrick’s Day, a spring get together or even a birthday party.
As the weather started to trend into the 40’s here, it felt like spring! I know some people may think the 40’s aren’t a big deal, but trust me. After a winter in Michigan a 40 degree day with sunshine is exactly what your soul needs! It also gets me thinking about spring and all the fun activities, projects and spring decor that’s on the horizon.
This week I started thinking about St. Patrick’s Day and had all good intentions of creating a St. Patrick’s Day tablescape. But instead, what popped out was a cute, Fairy garden tablescape that feels perfect for spring in general. The fairy garden tablescape could also work for St. Patrick’s Day because fairies are a large part of Irish culture and frankly, I think they’re overlooked a little in favor of the leprechaun. However, this sweet table is versatile and could also work for a birthday party or a spring garden party.
The florals
When I started thinking about this tablescape I told myself to keep it simple. I really didn’t want to have to order a bunch of items from the florist to create something. Just coming out of spring hibernation – and maybe even more coming out of the pandemic fog – I really felt the need to not overly complicate this tablescape. But I love having fresh florals as part of a table.
Instead of going overboard, I found these daffodils at the grocery store and snapped them up. When I saw them I knew they would make the perfect centerpiece for my tablescape.
Because I originally started this with St. Patrick’s Day in mind, I also lucked out (Ha!) and found the shamrock plants at a local store that I love in GR. While they aren’t a florist or even a plant store, most of the plants in our home are from Rebel. I love the high quality of plants they have and the different types. I bought them out of their shamrocks. 🙂
Lastly, I really wanted to make sure the table looked like it was filled in so I bought some preserved moss as a filler for the table space.
The fairies
My daughter had a fairy garden at our old house, but when we moved here, most of the fairy things were destroyed in the barn renovation. So in deciding to create this tablescape really became a dual purpose kind of project for me. Purchasing the fairies allowed me to get a little creative with this spring table and then I’ll be using them afterwards too to begin the fairy garden in one of our flower beds again.
If you have fairies and fairy garden pieces already, you can easily use those to create a cute, fairy garden tablescape like this. If you don’t and like some of the ones I used, here’s the fairies I purchased:
- Fairies with sing set ( I did not use the swing set in this.)
- Fairy Windmill
- Fairy Boy with tire swing
- Musical Fairy Sisters
- Fairy Girl on leaf swing
- Fairy Garden Cottage and Sign
Other items in the Fairy Garden Tablescape
As for everything else in the fairy garden tablescape, I already had it. Again, I wanted to get my spring creative juices flowing with this fairy garden tablescape and I didn’t want to spend a ton. My chargers and plates are from World Market. The plates we use in the barn and I have used them in a number of tablescapes. I love the pretty color and the slight texture. As for the chargers, I love how natural they look and while they do blend in with this table a bit, I adore the shape and think they look a little Celtic. You can find the chargers {HERE} and the plates are {HERE}.
The napkins are linen and they’re from Amazon. I have to say that I always love linen napkins from William Sonoma, but those are too expensive to buy all the time and they don’t always have the colors I want. This brand {HERE} is one I can always find colors in and I love the quality! My napkin rings are a few years old and I’ve used them in tablescapes like this Thanksgiving one {HERE}. I can’t find them anymore but there’s similar ones {HERE}.
Lastly, the green goblets are something I purchased a previous spring for a party. You can find them {HERE}. I also have similar pink ones that I used in this display {HERE}. I like the quality of these and they always look nice with any table setting.
