This POG juice recipe is a Disney World copycat and was our favorite drink while on vacation! Come see how to make it and save the recipe!
Last week we were in Disney World our first true vacation away from the farm. My dad has been wanting to take the kids there for years now and the trip kept getting delayed due to covid. But, we final made it and we spent five days there walking through every, single park in the Florida heat and soaking up the sun at the Polynesian Village resort. For the kids, it was a magical dream come true and for me it was really nice to finally get away.
That Disney magic
The Polynesian Village was a beautiful place to stay and I was so happy with all the food choices they offered and even happier with the drinks by the pool in the afternoon. 🙂 But one of my favorite drinks there was a kid-friendly juice called POG Juice. (also, sometimes called Ohana Juice or Stitch Juice.) It was fantastic! It’s like a little tropical vacation in a glass filled with a little touch of Disney magic.
And, apparently this is a real drink in Hawaii too.
I would have a glass of POG Juice each morning after getting back from a run there and it was the perfect way to cool off from the Florida heat. It was also the perfect way to replenish some of the sugars in my body after an intense run.
My copycat POG Juice recipe
But I tell ya, this simple, little dink is addictive! It’s so good! So, I decided to make a copycat Pog Juice recipe – one that would mimic the recipe at Disney and one that would include a little twist on the recipe to make it more of an adult beverage.
When it comes to making this POG juice recipe, it could not be easier. It’s a combination of orange juice, passion fruit juice and guava juice. It can be made in a pitcher, which makes it perfect for a summer party.
To make the POG juice recipe adult-like, I simply added a little bit of Malibu Rum to adult glasses. That way the pitcher stayed kid-appropriate while those wanting a little bit of an edge to this tropical drink could still have it.
Finding the ingredients for the POG juice recipe
So, the hardest part about making my copycat POG juice recipe will be finding the ingredients. The orange juice is obviously no problem, but the guava juice and certainly the passion fruit juice proved to be more challenging.
Guava juice is the easier of the two to find. You can sometimes find this as a nectar in the Hispanic section of the grocery store. The will work. Just make sure you’re either getting juice or nectar and not “cocktail”. The cocktail mix will have other juices mixed in with it already.
You might also find that some POG juice recipes look more orange while others have a pink tint. This is based on the Guava Juice used. For my POG juice recipe, I used pink guava nectar that I found {HERE}. And yes, I did order it online because it was easier than searching through a few different West Michigan grocery stores.
The Passion Fruit juice will probably be the most difficult to find and it can be pricey because unlike orange juice, it’s not grown in abundance. I also ordered that online and like this one {HERE}. Again, watch to make sure you’re not ordering a “cocktail” mix and getting a variety of juices.
Thank you so much for visiting today, friends! I hope that you enjoy the POG juice recipe and I hope that you come back again for a visit. You can fund the full, printable recipe below.
